Willie Lamont died peacefully on the 31st December 2018. Linda was by his side. He will be so dearly missed by those who felt his warmth, humour and intellect.

This is a website in Willie’s memory. Throughout his life Willie had a profound impact on a great number of people. Some of those experiences were captured in the 2016 book Willie Lamont History Man. Linda has now made this freely accessible for those without the physical copy.

The strength of admiration felt by so many towards Willie carries through the whole book. In addition to the personal affection of his family, friends and students, the book is also a testament to how sharp and enjoyable to read Willie’s own writing and historical work was. The website includes a section for audio and video recordings of interviews with Willie as well as a full bibliography of his published writings.

For those who are unable to attend Willie’s funeral this is also a place where people can share their memories or email Linda.
